Shikhar Dhawan ready to play starring role again for Hyderabad Sunrisers
India opener is in fine fettle
Indian Premier League
Sky Cricket, 3.30pm Thursday
Hyderabad suffered a blow before their 2018 IPL campaign had even started when skipper David Warner stepped down following the Australian ball-tampering scandal but that didn't stop the Sunrisers cruising to a nine-wicket victory over Rajasthan in their opening match.
Batsman Shikhar Dhawan took man-of-the-match honours for an unbeaten 78 against the Royals and the Indian opener can star again when Hyderabad meet 2017 champions Mumbai.
Dhawan averaged 43 with the bat in India's eight T20 matches against South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh earlier this year and has form against Mumbai's stellar bowling attack.
He fired 48 and 62 not out against the Indians last season and can lead the way again for the Sunrisers.
Recommendation
S Dhawan top Hyderabad runscorer
