Women's World Cup table-toppers England are 4-7 to beat fourth-placed New Zealand at Derby and secure their place in the semi-finals with a round of group games to go.

Heather Knight's side will be buoyed by Sunday's nail-biting success over Australia and thumped the White Ferns by seven wickets in a warm-up game last month, while they won both meetings in the tournament four years ago. However, they were hard-fought, high-scoring affairs in India so a bet on distinctively tall number three Amy Satterthwaite top-scoring for the Kiwis appeals. 'Branch' hit 103 and 85 on those occasions and also made 85 when going for five ODI tons on the spin in March.

The winner out of second-placed Australia and third-place India at Bristol will also qualify for the last four. The Southern Stars are 1-3 to prevail while the women in blue, who toppled England in their opener, are 3-1.

The two losers at Bristol and Derby are likely to fall behind South Africa in the race for the semi-finals going into the final round of group-stage fixtures. The fifth-placed Proteas are 1-6 to beat winless Sri Lanka at Taunton.

Plenty of cloud but little rain have been forecast for the second Test between England and South Africa that starts on Friday at Trent Bridge. Joe Root's Three Lions, who wrapped up a 211-run win at Lord's on Sunday, are 8-13 to win in Nottingham with the draw at 7-2 and the Proteas at 9-2.
