Match preview

It has been an intriguing T20 series between Pakistan and England and more thrills and spills look guaranteed in Sunday's fourth rubber in Karachi.

England lead the seven-match contest 2-1 after Moeen Ali's side bounced back superbly from a ten-wicket defeat on Thursday, in which Pakistan chased down 203 without losing a wicket, with an inspired performance of their own a day later.

Both teams appear to bringing the best out of each other and bookmakers are struggling to split the pair for Sunday's fourth clash.

With one eye on the forthcoming T20 World Cup in Australia, it is apparent England have excellent strength in depth and Ali will have been delighted with the way Ben Duckett and Harry Brook stepped up to score maiden T20 half-centuries in Friday's 63-run success.

Brook was particularly destructive with 81 off just 35 balls as England took a liking to Pakistan paceman Shahnawaz Dahani, who conceded a whopping 62 runs from his four overs.

Yorkshireman Brook has a chance to make the number five spot his own while Duckett's performance against spin, which he has struggled with in the past, will have left the hosts with plenty to think about.

It has to be acknowledged that Pakistan recovered well from their defeat in the opening contest as Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan guided them to that incredible ten-wicket victory in the second contest with an unbeaten stand of 203.

However, the return of Durham paceman Mark Wood on Friday was a huge boost for England and his three early wickets meant their 221-3 total was never really under threat.

Wood's appearance was his first international outing in seven months and it will be interesting to see if he backs up at such short notice given his history of injuries. But it does illustrate the plentiful resources England have in both departments.

That could be demonstrated in the batting ranks, too, with Alex Hales waiting in the wings after a rest, and the final four games of the series offer some other players a chance to impress with the World Cup just three weeks away.

In a pick 'em contest, England's squad strength could give them the edge as they seek to move within one game of a series victory.
