Defending One-Day Cup champions Hampshire have made a solid start to this year's competition but could require a strong performance from stalwart James Vince to see off in-form Middlesex.

Only Kent's Heino Kuhn and Essex opener Varun Chopra bettered Vince's total 527 runs in the 2018 One-Day Cup and their skipper has started the new season positively.

He made 56 from 53 deliveries in Hampshire's hammering of Kent before inspiring them to victory over Glamorgan with a score of 95.

Sam Northeast could be his biggest competitor in the Hants scoring charts but he could only follow up an explosive 105 with a paltry 14.

Consistent Vince, who is eyeing a return to England's Test side, looks better value to top score against Middlesex, who have won their opening two fixtures against Essex and Gloucestershire.

Elsewhere Kent Spitfires go in search of a first win in the competition against Gloucestershire, while Warwickshire play Nottinghamshire and Surrey welcome Essex to the Oval.
