A 4-1 capitulation in their one-day international series with India has hampered New Zealand's World Cup preparations and they will be seeking redemption when they face the Men in Blue in the Twenty20 format.

The Black Caps will face India in three T20 encounters, with the first taking place at the Wellington Regional Stadium.

India's batsmen enjoyed a comfortable ODI series against the Kiwis, racking up totals of more than 240 in three of the five games.

Shikhar Dhawan was particularly impressive throughout the series and he can make an impact at the top of the order in the first T20.

He put on 75 not out, 66 and 28 in the first three games and in his last two innings in the shorter format, in which he normally occupies the number two spot, he scored 76 and 41 against Australia.
