Mumbai Indians returned to action in the Indian Premier League with a 20-run defeat to Chennai Super Kings and will need to pick themselves up quickly as they prepare to take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the UAE.

Saurabh Tiwary, who fired a half-century, was the only player to score more than 17 runs for them in that contest as Mumbai managed a paltry total of 136.

But they were missing key captain Rohit Sharma, who was rested after an intense summer with India.
