Barbados are 4-6 to begin a run of four home games to finish their league schedule with a victory against Guyana, their main rivals for the fourth and final CPL playoffs spot.

However the Tridents, who will also host already-eliminated St Lucia, already-qualified top seeds Trinbago and St Kitts, lost by four wickets to the Amazon Warriors nine days ago despite a ton from Dwayne Smith.

And 13-10 Guyana followed up that success with a dominant seven-wicket win over St Lucia two days later, whereas Barbados have been inactive since.

Chadwick Walton was the hero for the Amazon Warriors when the teams met in Providence with 92 and is their leading compiler with 278 runs in eight knocks. He hit 60 not out in their first set-to with St Kitts and 36 not out in a first tussle with Trinbago.

But Jason Mohammed looks worth a wager at 9-2 to top-score on this occasion.

Mohammed was the main man with the bat against St Lucia last Tuesday with 42 not out and he has also topped Guyana’s lists in their first meeting with St Lucia (38) and their second clashes with St Kitts (41) and Trinbago (66).

The Amazon Warriors' top order will be reshuffled elsewhere with Babar Azam or Luke Ronchi replacing skipper Martin Guptill, who has flown back to New Zealand for family health reasons.

Kieron Pollard is neck-and-neck with Smith at the top of the Tridents’ runs charts with 229 and 227, while wickets have been shared around with Wahab Riaz taking seven, Wayne Parnell six, Pollard five and Akeal Hosein four. Shamar Springer has bagged a haul of 3-32 too.

Rayad Emrit is Guyana’s leading bowler with 11 victims, backed up by Sohail Tanvir with eight and Rashid Khan with seven.

Recommendation
J Mohammed top Guyana runscorer
1pt 9-2 general
