Match preview

Mumbai Indians are the most successful franchise in IPL history, winning five titles, but their seven straight defeats this season mean they have set a new record for the worst start to a campaign.

Thursday's clash with a Chennai side who had lost five of their first six games started and ended badly for Mumbai.

Batting first, they lost openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan to ducks but rallied to put themselves on the brink of victory before Super Kings veteran MS Dhoni smashed 16 runs off the final four balls of the match to pinch the points.

Dhoni's heist was a crushing blow to a Mumbai side already low on confidence and they are easy to swerve at evens to beat Lucknow on Sunday.

They lost to the Super Giants by 18 runs last weekend when Lucknow opener KL Rahul scored a century, sharing a brisk first-wicket stand of 52 with former Mumbai man Quinton de Kock, and the pair can make another strong start.
