London Spirit v Welsh Fire preview

Welsh Fire are rooted to the foot of the Men's Hundred standings after suffering a fifth straight defeat in the competition against defending champions Southern Brave on Monday.

And things are unlikely to get any better for the Cardiff-based outfit, who travel to highflyers London Spirit in their next match.

Fire fell to a nine-wicket thrashing by Brave last time out, having lost three wickets for one run in the first seven deliveries at Sophia Gardens.

They have been slow starters throughout the tournament, posting opening partnerships of one, 13, nought, 46 and nought in their five games and they allowed Brave to record a tournament-high stand of 121 for the first wicket last time out.

Spirit are going well in the Men's Hundred and can record the higher opening partnership at Lord's.

Neither Spirit nor Fire have won in the Women's Hundred this year and something's got to give when they clash in the capital.

Beth Mooney has been the star of the show for Spirit this season, blasting 140 runs from 85 balls in three innings and she is a decent bet to be her side's top runscorer against Fire.
