England v Ireland: day two
Sky Sports Cricket & Main Event, 11am Thursday

England 85 and 0-0 trail Ireland 207 by 122 runs

Ireland are 100-30 to win their first Test match against England after a dramatic first day at Lord's saw the 25-1 pre-match underdogs bowl out the hosts for just 85 before lunch.

Ireland made 207 in reply, giving them a first-innings lead of 122, and England opener Rory Burns and nightwatchman Jack Leach will resume on day two on 0-0.

Despite England's woeful batting performance, they are 1-3 for victory but the in-play odds told the story of an amazing day's play at the Home of Cricket.

England were no bigger than 1-9 before winning the toss and Ireland hit 66-1 in the early stages of the hosts' innings.

However, Tim Murtagh and Mark Adair reduced England from 36-1 to 43-7 and the visitors touched 11-10 in-play having reached 132-2 in response with Andy Balbirnie, 9-2 to top-score, leading the way with 55.

England were trading at 6-5 at that stage but Ireland then suffered a collapse of their own as Sam Curran, Stuart Broad and debutant Olly Stone got among the wickets.

The morning session will live long in the memory of Irish cricket fans with veteran Murtagh's haul of 5-13 the highlight of a disciplined bowling display.

England showed little fight with the bat, however, as they crumbled to 85 all out in just 23.4 overs – their shortest all-out innings in a home Test match.

Their runs could have been sold at an opening mark of 430 with Sporting Index and 5-1 chance Joe Denly top-scored with 23, just holding off Stone, who was the last man out for 19.

England's struggles prompted some support for Australia to win the Ashes series which starts at Edgbaston on August 1.

The Aussies are 13-8 for victory with England eased to 10-11. It is 13-2 that the five-match series finishes in a draw.
