Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants prediction

Sunrisers Hyderabad were bowled out for just 113 by Kolkata Knight Riders in last season's IPL final but the 2024 runners-up started the new campaign with a bang.

The Sunrisers, who posted three of the four highest totals in IPL history last year, fell just one run short of their own record when racking up 286-6 in Sunday's victory over Rajasthan Royals.

Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen did most of the damage with the bat last term but new signing Ishan Kishan smashed an unbeaten 106 off 47 balls against the Royals.

Hyderabad's batters should be looking forward to their clash with Lucknow Super Giants, whose depleted bowling attack suffered a demoralising one-wicket loss to Delhi Capitals on Monday.

Chasing 211 for victory, Delhi were reduced to 7-3 and 65-5 before staging a remarkable comeback so the trip to Hyderabad is a daunting prospect for Lucknow's bowlers.

The Super Giants' batting unit is packed with international experience and Australian opener Mitchell Marsh is a tempting bet to hit the most sixes for the visitors.

Marsh struck six maximums in a fluent 72 off 36 balls against Delhi although that innings was eclipsed by Nicholas Pooran's 75, which featured seven sixes.

However, Pooran was dropped on 17 and was fortunate to be on strike against occasional off-spinner Tristan Stubbs, whose only over cost 28 runs, so Australia's T20 captain Marsh is a more appealing bet.
