Sunday's IPL predictions

Punjab Kings failed to defend a total of 245-6 against Sunrisers Hyderabad last weekend but they have responded with a couple of outstanding performances.

On Tuesday, the Kings bowled out Kolkata for 95 in Mullanpur after they had been skittled for 111. That was the lowest total successfully defended in IPL history and Punjab followed up by restricting Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 95-9 in Friday's five-wicket win.

The Royal Challengers, who have lost all three of their home games, are bidding for a fifth straight away victory in their return fixture against the Kings.

Punjab paceman Arshdeep Singh dismissed RCB openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli in his first two overs on Friday and he can pick up at least two wickets on Sunday.

The India left-armer took 2-36 and 3-43 in his first two games this season and has claimed 40 wickets in 21 T20 internationals for India since the start of 2024.

Chennai Super Kings' 43-year-old captain MS Dhoni rolled back the years with an unbeaten 26 off 11 balls to seal Monday's win in Lucknow.

However, CSK's delight could be short-lived as rivals Mumbai Indians are hot favourites to complete a hat-trick of victories in their clash at the Wankhede Stadium.

Chennai hit only three sixes to Lucknow's ten on Monday and they may well be overpowered in that department by Mumbai, whose big hitters include Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Will Jacks.
