Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Punjab Kings prediction

Punjab Kings delighted their in-play backers with an extraordinary win over Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday and they are aiming to inflict a third straight home defeat on Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The Kings collapsed from 39-0 to 111 all out against KKR before conjuring up a superb performance in the field to bowl out the defending champions for just 95.

Punjab will hope to build on that stunning success in their double-header against RCB, who host the Kings on Friday before Sunday's return fixture in Mullanpur.

The Royal Challengers have been far happier on their travels this season, winning all four of their away games at Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Rajasthan.

They were well beaten by Gujarat and Delhi in their first two home fixtures although they have a strong recent record against Punjab, winning the last three meetings between the sides.

RCB opener Virat Kohli has made half-centuries in each of those victories, scoring 77 and 92 in last season's wins against the Kings.

The India icon topped the 2024 IPL batting chart with 741 runs in 15 innings – 158 more than any other player – and he has reached 50 in three of his first six appearances this term, making an unbeaten 62 in last weekend's nine-wicket stroll against Rajasthan.
