Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals both look like big runners in the race for an Indian Premier League top-four finish as the competition passes the halfway mark.

LSG have come out on top of a number of close encounters, winning by 12, four and two runs as well as securing a victory over Gujarat Titans with three balls to spare.

The Capitals started in flying form, winning their first four games on the spin, but have lost two of their last three.

Both teams have won five of their matches but the visitors have played a game fewer.

This should be an intriguing clash for a number of reasons, none more so than the fact that Delhi's star KL Rahul was LSG’s captain last season.

In what looks a typically competitive affair there the hosts seem to have a clear advantage over the visitors when it comes to hitting sixes.

Nicholas Pooran has the most maximums in the competition this term with a total of 31, while Lucknow have four players in double-figures.

By contrast Rahul is the only Capitals player who ranks in the top 30 and they have only managed more sixes than their opponents in two of their seven outings this season.

Side with the Super Giants to come out on top when it comes to clearing the ropes.
