Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings prediction

Chennai Super Kings have won the IPL in two of the last four seasons but they are enduring a miserable start to their 2025 campaign and things could get even worse when they visit the Lucknow Super Giants on Monday.

The Super Kings are five-time champions and have made the playoffs more times than any other side, but they have lost five successive games for the first time in the competition and a sixth straight defeat looks likely.

CSK are bottom of the table and were demolished by the Kolkata Knight Riders in an eight-wicket loss on Friday, when KKR needed just 61 of their allocated 120 deliveries to reach their target after Chennai mustered just 103 for nine in their 20 overs.

The Super Giants have won their last three matches to establish themselves as a force in the league this season. Their efforts have been spearheaded by West Indies ace Nicholas Pooran, who is the competition's top scorer with 349 runs in six innings including five knocks of 44 or more.

Lucknow beat the Gujarat Titans in their latest match despite the late withdrawal for personal reasons of Aussie star Mitchell Marsh, but his replacement Himmat Singh did not even need to bat as they secured a six-wicket success.
