IPL predictions

Cricket fans could get a sneak peek into the future on Sunday when four of the top six in the IPL are in action.

With just under a month until the playoffs begin, the race for a place in the top four is extremely tight with only two points separating the top six teams.

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians have the wind in their sails as the regular season reaches a crucial phase and will seek to maintain their impetus with a fifth straight win against Lucknow Super Giants.

Admittedly, their four-game winning run includes three victories over the bottom two sides – Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings – so they look  skinny at 4-7.

Lucknow Super Giants squeezed past Mumbai by 12 runs earlier in the season and it could be too close to call once more.

Sunday's second match is just as intriguing and features two franchises intent on landing their first IPL crown in 2025.

There has been a steely edge to the Delhi Capitals this season and they are fancied to edge out Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Indian megastar Virat Kohli is almost single-handedly spearheading RCB's bid for a long overdue championship but Delhi are one of the only sides to have kept him in check in the opening half of the season.

The well-balanced Capitals were comfortable six-wicket winners when the sides met in Bengaluru earlier in the campaign and they have won six of their last seven home matches in the IPL.

In a desperately tight contest, Delhi get the vote to maintain their impressive pace at the top of the standings.
