Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Sixers preview

Sydney Sixers have been impressive all season in the Big Bash League but they took things up a gear last time out, destroying rivals Sydney Thunder by 125 runs.

For the second successive match, Australian ace Steve Smith blasted a century with his unbeaten 125 helping the Sixers to a score of 187-2.

In response, Thunder crumbled to 62 all out and the Sixers picked up their fifth straight win in the Big Bash League.

With a qualifying spot already secured, the Sixers will have two attempts to reach the final when the playoffs come around and they will be heading into the knockouts in high spirits.

Monday's opponents Hobart Hurricanes are still in the hunt for a playoff spot of their own and will secure a place if they win their last two matches.

They have the advantage of this match taking place in Tasmania but Paddy Dooley's availability is uncertain and they simply look too inconsistent, so side with the red-hot Sixers once again.
