Group A of the T20 World Cup reaches its conclusion on Friday with Namibia and Ireland going head to head in Sharjah for a place in the Super 12.

Both sides have two points to their name with Ireland currently ahead courtesy of a superior net run rate.

But the Irish are also arguably the better side, having thrashed the Netherlands by seven wickets, whereas Namibia's win over the same opponents came with only one over to spare.

Ireland recorded convincing warm-up wins over Papua New Guinea and Bangladesh and look about right at 1-2 to pip Namibia to a spot in the next phase.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have already booked their place in the Super 12 but are unlikely to down tools against the Netherlands, who have been eliminated, as they build towards the next phase.

Wanindu Hasaranga garnered most of the headlines for his match-winning 71 against the Irish but Maheesh Theekshana also excelled, taking 3-17 with the ball.

Six of the 21-year-old's seven wickets in T20 internationals have come in this tournament and he could claim at least another couple of victims on Friday.
