Derbyshire have made a promising start to the One-Day Cup with two wins out of three and a home game against Leicestershire looks a great chance for them to enhance that record.

Skipper Billy Godleman’s 137 led Derbyshire to a surprise win at Warwickshire in their opening game and they bounced back from a defeat to in-form Worcestershire with a home victory over Durham.

Leicestershire are a more dangerous side than struggling Durham but Derbyshire bat deep and have an experienced pace attack with South Africa’s Duanne Olivier and former internationals Ravi Rampaul and Hardus Viljoen.

In the South Group, Glamorgan remain winless after a two-run defeat at Middlesex on Wednesday but they can travel in hope for their game against Kent at Canterbury.

A batting line-up including Australia’s Shaun Marsh, ex-South Africa international Colin Ingram and Welsh wonders Aneurin Donald and David Lloyd should start winning games soon enough and Kent have lost their first two 50-over matches.

Flying high in Division Two of the County Championship, Kent’s batting has failed to fire in the One-Day Cup and they have been bowled out for 188 and 243 in their first two matches of the 50-over competition.
