Delhi Capitals reached their first Indian Premier League final last year, losing to Mumbai, and they have kicked on this season, winning ten of their 14 league matches to finish top of the table.

The Capitals are worth backing to book their place in Friday's final in Dubai by beating the vastly experienced, but slightly creaking, Chennai Super Kings.

The clash of generations is epitomised by the 16-year age gap between Delhi captain Rishabh Pant and veteran Chennai skipper MS Dhoni and the Capitals have won their last four meetings with the Super Kings.

They have been playing with only three of their permitted four overseas players recently but hope to have dynamic Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis fit for the start of the playoffs.

Chennai openers Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad have both passed 500 runs this season but Delhi's classy bowling attack could expose the weakness of the Super Kings' middle-order.
