County Championship: Nottinghamshire can see off Yorkshire in Trent Bridge clash
Division One and Two match tips, odds & betting
Starts 11am Friday
Nottinghamshire start their Division One campaign at home to Yorkshire and the hosts can make a winning start at Trent Bridge.
Last year Notts stayed up by the skin of their teeth but their batting should be pepped up by Joe Clarke, Ben Duckett and Ben Slater while Paul Coughlin, formerly of Durham, could make a long-awaited debut after missing the 2018 season with injury.
The game is being billed as Stuart Broad versus England captain Joe Root but Jake Ball and Luke Fletcher should also be a handful for the home side in early-season conditions.
Yorkshire coach Andrew Gale admits it may take a couple of years before his young side start competing for the title and a trip to Trent Bridge is a testing opener for the White Rose.
Notts are worth a bet at evens with stakes returned if the match ends in a draw.
Essex are 4-5 for victory at Hampshire while in Division Two Sussex are 4-7 at home to Leicestershire and Middlesex are 8-13 for their opening trip to Northamptonshire.
