Brilliant De Villiers can guide Proteas to series win
Batting legend could prosper
Fourth ODI
Sky Sports 2, 1am Wednesday
AB de Villiers brought up his 9,000th one-day international run when he scored a fluent 85 in the third ODI on Saturday and the brilliant Pretorian should be backed to lead the way for South Africa against New Zealand in Hamilton.
After two tight opening matches, the Proteas took control of the five-match series with a 159-run victory in Wellington and they are odds-on favourites to move into an unassailable 3-1 lead.
The first ODI, which also took place in Hamilton, was a low-scoring, rain-affected affair and a similar act could unfold at Seddon Park once again with some forecast showers.
De Villiers fared better than most as he struck a measured 37 not out from 34 balls to steer the tourists to victory alongside big-hitting bowling all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo. He has 167 runs in the series and could top the batting charts once again.
