Ingenuity is a key component to gaining success in limited-overs cricket and if one nation has displayed that trait more than any other, it is New Zealand.

The Black Caps have always been forward-thinking in their approach towards the 50 and 20-over games and that creativity and athleticism has seen them rocket to the top of the ICC T20 standings over the past year.

Kane Williamson's side have a tremendous blend of power and poise in the batting ranks and variety with ball in hand.

Since falling to a seven-wicket defeat against Pakistan in December 2014, New Zealand have won 15 of their 20 T20 outings - only England (twice), South Africa (twice) and Pakistan have beaten them since.

They are 9-4 outsiders to add a series win in India to their increasingly impressive resume and that could be good value.

Indian conditions will not be unfamiliar for the Kiwis as a number of the tourists' squad ply their trade in the IPL.

And history is also on their side as New Zealand have won each of their five previous 20-over meetings with Virat Kohli's men.

The three-match ODI series could have gone either way and it may be New Zealand who gain revenge for that 2-1 series defeat in the T20 clashes.
