Match preview
Australia and England meet in the final of the Women's World Cup and the old rivals have taken contrasting paths to Sunday's showdown at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
The Aussies, living up to their billing as odds-on pre-tournament favourites, won all seven of their group matches before a comfortable semi-final victory over the West Indies.
Defending champions England have done it the hard way after losing their first three games against Australia and, more surprisingly, the Windies and South Africa.
They rallied impressively, holding their nerve in a crucial one-wicket victory over World Cup hosts New Zealand, and made no mistake in their semi-final rematch against South Africa, winning by 137 runs in Christchurch.
Heather Knight's side are under no illusions about the task facing them in the final and they are 11-4 to upset a dominant Australia unit who thrashed England 3-0 in the 50-over leg of this winter's Ashes tour.
England were bowled out for 178, 129 and 163 in February's defeats although Nat Sciver's century got them to within 12 runs of Australia's 310-3 in their World Cup opener.
Legendary all-rounder Ellyse Perry is still an injury doubt for Australia but the favourites have a squad packed with potential matchwinners including opener Rachael Haynes, the second-highest runscorer in the tournament.
Haynes had a quiet series in the Ashes ODIs but she scored 86 in the one-off Test match in Canberra and started the World Cup with a brilliant 130 against England.
The left-hander is averaging more than 60 at this tournament, helped by innings of 83 not out and 85 in the group-stage and semi-finals wins over the West Indies, and she is worth backing to make a half-century in the final.
