Adelaide Strikers v Melbourne Renegades preview

Adelaide Strikers snapped their four-game losing streak in the Big Bash in emphatic style, nailing the highest run-chase in the competition's history to beat Hobart Hurricanes by seven wickets on Thursday.

In-form opener Matthew Short struck an unbeaten 100 and veteran Chris Lynn cracked 64 off 29 balls as the Strikers reached 230-3 with three balls to spare at the Adelaide Oval.

That performance should boost the mood in the camp after four straight defeats and Adelaide may be able to welcome back Australia Test players Travis Head and Alex Carey for Tuesday's clash with Melbourne Renegades.

Both have been batting brilliantly against the red ball – Head continued his prolific Test form with 70 off 59 balls in the final game against South Africa – and the Strikers should be backed to see off the Renegades, who have won their last two matches but had lost four in a row before then.
