Classy Petra Kvitova can dismantle Zarina Diyas
Magdalena Rybarikova value to spring an upset
WTA New Haven

Petra Kvitova tends to deliver the goods at New Haven and the classy Czech performer can enhance her title credentials with a straight-set success over Zarina Diyas.
Kvitova is a three-time winner in Connecticut and the manner of her 6-1 7-6 demolition of Agnieszka Radwanska in the opening round suggests she has plenty left in the tank despite making the semi-finals in Cincinnati last week.
Serena Williams, Kristina Mladenovic and Elise Mertens were among Kvitova’s victims in Cincinnati and Diyas, the world number 62, could struggle to contain the Czech if reappearing in similar vein.
Simona Halep and Ashleigh Barty both withdrew from the event as a result of their recent busy schedules and fourth-seed Karolina Pliskova was a first-round casualty, so Kvitova will see this as an ideal opportunity to secure some silverware.
Ekaterina Makarova punished a sloppy Pliskova in the opening round but should expect a much toughest test from Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova.
Three of their four previous meetings have gone Rybarikova's way and in an evenly-matched affair she could be the value call.
The 29-year-old is 18 places better off in the world rankings and she showed enough in Sunday’s victory over hard-hitting American Coco Vandeweghe to suggest she can cause an upset.
