Cavaliers look to have left recovery too late
Points line looks on the high side for finals showdown
Cleveland at Golden State Warriors
Game Five, BT Sport 1, 2am Tuesday
Cleveland were hoping for a miracle after losing the first three games of the best-of-seven NBA finals and memories of last year, when they came from 3-1 to pip Golden State, will be fresh in their memories as they head to Oakland for Game Five.
The Warriors are undoubtedly stronger this term now they have Kevin Durant in their ranks, but the Cavs were superb offensively in a 137-116 victory last time out, which featured the highest team total in a finals match since 1987.
It has probably come too late, although they will really fancy their chances if they can get back to Ohio for a sixth encounter on Thursday.
But bookmakers feel they are up against it facing a team who have lost just five of 49 home matches this season and they rate Cleveland as nine-point underdogs.
The four matches so far have been high-scoring but with the points line chalked up at a whopping 231.5, it could be worth swimming against the tide.
Nine of the Warriors last ten matches have gone over - the exception was Game One of the finals - and with the betting public anticipating another thriller in California, the value call is that it will not be eclipsed, especially if Cleveland are out of the game early on.
