Preview

It's refreshing to have a competitive boxing card and fights don't come much more even than James Dickens' clash with Ryan Walsh.

The pair square up in the final of the Golden Contract tournament and bookmakers can hardly split them.

Jazza has got his career back on track after unsuccessfully challenging Guillermo Rigondeaux for his WBA super-bantamweight title and losing his British super-bantam crown to Thomas Patrick Ward.

There's no shame in either of those defeats, given Rigondeaux is an elite-level operator and Ward is unbeaten. There was a lot to like about the Liverpool fighter's win over the highly-touted Leigh Wood in the semi-finals of this event and he could just have Walsh's measure.

The Cromer puncher is a high-quality operator but he may struggle to match the output of Dickens and that could see the fight slip away from him. This has all the makings of a close contest but the 11-10 about a Jazza win seems a touch big.

Two undefeated prospects clash on the undercard when Daniel Egbunike takes on Harlem Eubank.

Egbunike is a strong and solid fighter, who beat Billy Allington to win the Southern Area super-lightweight title in his last fight, but he faces a tough test against the rapidly-rising Eubank, whose uncle is Chris Eubank Sr.

The Brighton boxer put Martin McDonagh away in impressive style last time out and he looks value to continue on an upward path.
