Josh Kelly is 1-33 to get the better of Flavius Biea in Newcastle on Friday night and and the fighter dubbed Pretty Boy will be looking to make a statement as he targets a domestic showdown with Conor Benn. 

The 31-year-old’s career looked to have hit the buffers when he was crushed by David Avanesyan in 2021. But Kelly has regrouped under coach Adam Booth to score decent successes over Troy Williamson and Ishmael Davis.

Those are only domestic-level victories, but Biea is struggling to even reach that level. 

The Romanian has won 24 of his 25 career bouts, but this is the Timisoara fighter’s first fight of note and Biea has had to wait for his chance. 

The 35-year-old can’t be considered an improving fighter and this should be easy work for Kelly. 

Pretty Boy is likely to want to put on a show as he chases the cash in big domestic dust-ups and the Sunderland boxer can be backed to win by stoppage.
