Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero fight card predictions
Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez are all in action as Times Square stages a historic night of boxing. It’s the first time that New York’s iconic attraction will host a fight card and there are three intriguing contests.
Garcia is back in action following his bout with Haney last year, when he scored a unanimous decision success, but the bout was later changed to a no contest following Garcia’s positive test for a banned substance.
Garcia will be looking to get his career back on track against Rolly Romero in the early hours of Saturday morning but if anything it’s Haney who now has more to prove.
The Dream had previously looked an almost unstoppable force when dismissing the challenges of Regis Prograis, Vasyl Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr, but the 26-year-old came unstuck against Garcia.
Haney showed a clear vulnerability to power in that clash and that may give a clue to his New York contest with Jose Ramirez.
Ramirez carries respectable power and the 32-year-old will surely see a stoppage as his best route to success. However, that is likely to leave the Californian open to the skills and speed of Haney and that could be a dangerous game.
Haney has a point to prove following the nightmare against Garcia and he looks a good bet to get his career back on track with a knockout victory.
