Joshua Buatsi returns to the ring for a Manchester light-heavyweight domestic dust-up with Zach Parker and it doesn’t look a completely straightforward assignment for the 32-year-old.Â
The Croydon fighter was beaten by Callum Smith in a bruising battle in February and the boxer nicknamed Just Business now has to get his career back on track.

Joshua Buatsi vs Zach Parker preview
Joshua Buatsi showed plenty of toughness and spirit when losing to Smith, but judge Steve Gray scored that contest 119-110 in favour of Mondo, which indicates what a punishingly wide-margin defeat it was for the south Londoner.Â
It’s now clear that the 32-year-old is not a top-level fighter, and with the bubble burst, he has to prove there is no mental or physical damage from the brutal defeat to Smith.Â
Victories over Craig Richards and Willy Hutchinson would still put Buatsi clear of anything that Parker has achieved, but those successes were certainly not dominant triumphs and they also came when he was riding high.
Parker has just one defeat on his 27-fight career, which came when he was forced to retire after suffering a broken hand against John Ryder. It's worth noting that the Derbyshire man was sent off a 4-9 chance against Ryder, who was a two-time super-middleweight world title challenger.Â
The Swadlincote scrapper is unexposed at this level and there has to be a chance that the 31-year-old can prove better than the market anticipates.Â
Throw in that we know that Buatsi isn’t a world-level fighter and he does look a little overrated in this spot. Over 8.5 rounds could be a smart bet and it could also pay to back Parker to win.Â
