Johnny Fisher v Dave Allen prediction

Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen rematch at London’s Copperbox Arena following the former’s controversial split-decision win in Saudi Arabia last year.

Allen had the Romford Bull on the floor in the fifth round of December’s Riyadh clash and the White Rhino looked to have had the better of the contest. However, that wasn’t enough for Allen to get the decision of the judges.

Fisher, whose dad Big John is a social media influencer thanks to his Chinese takeaway eating habits and love of the word "bosh!", was the overwhelming favourite for the first clash between the pair and the unbeaten 26-year-old is a 4-9 shot on Saturday.

It’s hard not to think that the Romford Bull has been overrated by the prices once again, given the evidence of the Saudi bout, and Allen is worth a punt.

Fisher has the potential to improve given it was his first bout against a credible opponent and the Romford Bull is still in the early stages of his career.

However, it’s also possible that what we saw from the 26-year-old in Saudi Arabia is the best he has to offer and the form of Fisher’s previous 12 victories amounts to very little.

Allen has been in the ring with Dillian Whyte, Luis Ortiz, Tony Yoka, Frazer Clarke and David Price, and while those tussles all ended in defeat, the level of opponent is miles above anyone Fisher has fought.

The White Rhino looked in good physical and mental condition when roughing up the Romford Bull in Saudi Arabia and that hasn’t always been a given in the Doncaster boxer’s career.

A chance has to be taken on Allen’s physical capabilities this evening, but Fisher has questions to answer too and there is enough in the price to take a punt on the outsider.
