Golden Contract semi-final previews

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder look sure to serve up a cracker in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning, but before that there's some tasty action at London's York Hall on Friday night with the semi-finals of the super-lightweight and featherweight Golden Contract tournaments.

Ohara Davies has never shied away from controversy but he seems to be taking a more measured approach to his last-four bout against Jeff Ofori. Davies was bashed up by Josh Taylor and lost to Jack Catterall, but he's several levels above Ofori. Unfortunately, that hasn't been missed by the layers, who make the Hackney man a 1-8 shot.

Mohamed Mimoune and Tyrone McKenna clash in the other super-lightweight semi. Once again the prices look on the mark and it could pay punters to concentrate on the featherweight contests.

British champion Ryan Walsh takes on Tyrone McCullagh in the opening last-four tussle and it is a big step up in class for the Derry puncher.

McCullagh is an unbeaten southpaw but his points win over late replacement Razaq Najib in the quarter-finals was nothing special and the 29-year-old has managed just 14 low-key pro fights since 2015.

Walsh is a classy fighter and his only two defeats have come when challenging for the European title and when taking on former world champion Lee Selby.

The fight could turn scrappy but the Norwich man should prove too strong and the 5-6 about a Walsh points win looks a solid bet.

Leigh Wood is the up and coming talent in the event and while he faces his toughest test to date against Jazza Dickens he can make waves by stopping the Merseyside man.

Wood is huge for the weight, carries plenty of power and can box on the back foot. His opponent's come-forward style should suit the Nottingham banger and although Dickens is no fool he's pretty easy to hit.

Betfred's offer of 4-6 about a Wood stoppage win looks a knockout bet.
