Fight preview

Danny Dignum makes the third defence of his WBO European middleweight belt when he takes on Grant Dennis at the York Hall.

The Essex puncher won the vacant title when stopping Conrad Cummings in 2019. Dignum has made two successful defences since, although he had to settle for a split-decision draw and suffered a cut against Andrey Sirotkin last time out.

Dennis has also been in with Sirotkin and he was stopped in eight rounds by the Russian in 2020. Go-Getter has been exposed when stepping-up in class and there is unlikely to be any improvement from a 38-year-old fighter.

Dignum is 1-8 to hold on to his European title and 4-9 to win via stoppage. Dennis has been stopped only once in a 20-fight career but he has has only three bouts over more than an eight-round distance to his name.

The Chatham man was exposed by Sirotkin and it's likely to be more of the same against Dignum. The Dagenham puncher should dominate this fight and backing under 6.5 rounds looks a knockout bet.

European bantamweight champion Lee McGregor is also on the card and Lightning is 1-33 to see off Diego Alberto Ruiz.
