Martin Bakole vs Joseph Parker predictions
Joseph Parker should have been challenging Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight world title but the Briton has been forced to pull out, and Martin Bakole has stepped in to fill the void at short notice.
Parker is a clear favourite but he’ll need to be at the top of his game against a fighter some regard as "the most avoided" heavyweight. Bakole has been desperate for a big chance for some time and has put together a solid 21-1 record with 16 KOs but facing Parker is a clear step up.
The New Zealander is in great form after wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang and a win over Bakole will keep him on course for a world title shot. Parker should win this but he might need the judges against a tough opponent so take him to win by decision.
Shakur Stevenson vs Josh Padley predictions
Shakur Stevenson defends his WBC lightweight crown but like Parker he’s had to adjust to a new opponent. Floyd Schofield has had to pull out, and the unbeaten but untested Josh Padley has been drafted in.
Padley is a bit of an unknown quantity as he just hasn’t fought at this level and anything other than a convincing Stevenson win would be a shock. The American has been criticised for not being active enough in the past so is under pressure to deliver a performance here and a small wager on Stevenson to win in rounds 1-6 could be a shrewd move.
Hamzah Sheeraz vs Carlos Adames predictions
Hamzah Sheeraz challenges for a world title for the first time and we should finally get to see just how good the Briton is against the dangerous Carlos Adames (24-1 with 18 KOs).
Sheeraz has significant height and reach advantages, he is huge for a middleweight, and he can make Adames his latest KO victim after stopping his last 15 opponents.
Vergil Ortiz Jr vs Israil Madrimov predictions
Away from the main event, this super-welterweight bout is perhaps the hardest to call as the unbeaten Vergil Ortiz Jr faces Israil Madrimov.
Madrimov impressed in defeat to Terence Crawford last time out but Ortiz represents a different sort of challenge. Ortiz is a fantastic pressure fighter who is relentless in his approach, and that gives him an edge.
Zhilei Zhang vs Agit Kabayel predictions
Zhang is unlucky not to have fought for a world title and defeat to the unbeaten Agit Kabayel may spell the end of his hopes of ever becoming a champion.
China’s Big Bang has loads of power but not much else, while Kabayel goes into the fight after stopping two unbeaten opponents in his last two fights. Both men are tough enough to reach the final bell so backing Kabayel to win on points looks a solid option.
Joshua Buatsi vs Callum Smith predictions
The card starts with an all-British light-heavyweight dust-up between Joshua Buatsi and Callum Smith, who is the underdog.
Buatsi has a 19-0 record and should have enough to keep his unbeaten record intact. Smith has been stopped only by headliner Beterbiev, so take Buatsi on points.
