Bourg-Peronnas may make a fight of it against Marseille

Bourg-Peronnas are having a tough time of it in Ligue 2.

A record of two wins in their last 15 league matches has left the Burgundians in serious danger of being relegated to the French third tier.

However, they have managed to be a different team in the French Cup, where a 2-0 win over Ligue 1 Toulouse two weeks ago has set up this clash with top-tier highflyers Marseille.

OM are second in the league, and while they have little realistic chance of catching PSG, they could be forgiven for treating the cup with less gravity than repelling Monaco and Lyon to earn automatic qualification for the Champions League group stages.

Bourg-en-Bresse is currently suffering a severe cold snap, which could give the hosts an advantage as they have been training on snowbound grounds this week. Fans are keeping the faith too - the recently expanded Marcel Verchere Stadium is sold out for the game.

The sides met in this competition in 2012, with Marseille running out 3-1 winners.

While beating Toulouse was impressive, Olympique are a major step up in class for the hosts, but they should put up a fight. The best bet could be for them to find the net but fall short.
