Preview

The best of football's slim Sunday pickings are in Turkey with a couple of cracking games at the top of the Super Lig.

Top two Trabzonspor and Istanbul Basaksehir are level on points and there is scope for the title challengers to serve up a treat.

Trabzonspor have suffered just one defeat since November and have won eight and drawn two of the ten matches they have faced since they fell to Denizlispor when they were hit by two second-half goals from former Fulham striker Hugo Rodallega.

One of their success stories has been Norwegian striker Alex Sorloth, who has put a disappointing spell at Crystal Palace behind him to score 19 goals in his first season in Turkey.

But there has to be a slight concern that they have kept just two clean sheets in their last nine and Istanbul should be confident having beaten Celtic's conquerors Copenhagen in the Europa League on Thursday.

They have suffered one league loss since August 24 and failed to score in just two of their last 11 away league games, so it would be no surprise if there are a few goals.

Galatasaray and Besiktas tend to be more familiar names battling it out for Turkish honours, but Gala should be confident of a seventh straight home win.

They are just three points behind the leading pair and they have conceded just eight home goals this season, the best tally in the league.

Former Manchester United and Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao is still doing the business at 34 - he's scored nine goals in 13 appearances, including four in the last three.

Fifth-placed Besiktas, meanwhile, have lost six of their last eight away games in all competitions and although they have claimed five wins on their travels this season, their success at Alanyaspor was the only one against a team in the top half of the table.
