Bell and Davies can show why they are T20 Blast's top compilers at Edgbaston

Birmingham Bears and Lancashire Lightning both keen for victory

Ian Bell has been in superb Twenty20 form for Birmingham Bears

Birmingham v Lancashire
Sky Sports Cricket, 7pm Tuesday

Ian Bell and Alex Davies both failed when Lancashire beat Birmingham by 37 runs on Friday night but backing the top two compilers in this summer's T20 Blast to be their teams' leading runscorer still looks the best betting approach to this return North Group match at Edgbaston.

The Bears' Bell is 30 runs clear in the runscoring list after four fifties and 131 against Northamptonshire while Lightning opener Davies has made six fifties in 11 knocks.

There should be a competitive edge to the clash with Birmingham needing to beat Lancashire to stand a chance of sneaking into the top four. The second-placed visitors, meanwhile, will want to give themselves every chance of claiming a home quarter-final.

However, should the game get away from the 9-11 visitors, on a run of three straight wins after destroying leaders Durham on Sunday, it could be a blessing in disguise as Birmingham would then have an incentive to beat third-placed Worcestershire on Friday.

First up at Edgbaston is a tussle between Loughborough Lightning and Western Storm, the top two in the women's Super League (Sky Sports Cricket & Mix, 3pm). Hills make the Storm 4-5 shots to extend their lead at the top.

Surrey are 4-7 to beat Hampshire at The Oval and maintain a realistic hope of securing one of the two remaining South Group quarter-final spots. Sunday's washout against Essex must have come as light relief to Hampshire after four defeats on the spin.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes was found not guilty of affray by a jury at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday and has been included in England's squad for the third Test against India, which starts at Trent Bridge on Saturday.
