Beer can brew up a better performance at home to Dinamo Zagreb

Israelis could be tough to break down

Ben Sahar could get on the scoresheet for Hapoel

Champions League second qualifying round
7.45pm Tuesday

Dinamo Zagreb proved their dominance by recording a 5-0 first leg win over Hapoel Beer Sheva, and while the Croatians should have no problem advancing, a closer contest could be on the cards in the second leg in Israel.

Hapoel Beer Sheva were unbeaten at home in the league last season, and while there is a clear difference in quality between the sides the Camels have a decent home record in Europe in recent years.

The last two years has seen them earn victories over Celtic, Ludogorets Razgrad and Inter, as well as a draw with Southampton, showing that they can hold their own against the most elite visitors to Turner Stadium.

Hapoel conceded just seven goals in 13 matches at home last season, showing that they can be a difficult side to break down.

Zagreb by comparison conceded 20 goals in their 18 away matches and lost three of their last nine, so the return could well be tighter.

With qualification all but assured the Blues will likely defend their lead and see the tie out, but Hapoel’s rigid home form could bring about a low-scoring draw.

Recommendation
1-1 correct score
1pt 11-2 general
