Babar Azam's the main man for Pakistan
Number three can bounce back from duck against New Zealand
Sky Sports Cricket, 10pm Monday
Champions Trophy winners Pakistan were outclassed by New Zealand in a rain-affected first ODI and the Kiwis are 4-9 favourites to win the second game in Nelson.
Colin Munro’s 33-ball fifty and Kane Williamson’s 115 set Pakistan a target of 316 before Tim Southee and Trent Boult shared five wickets to leave the tourists 61 runs short on the Duckworth/Lewis method when the rain came.
One of Southee’s victims was Babar Azam, who was unable to contest a harsh lbw decision because opener Azhar Ali had already used up Pakistan’s review.
Azam’s duck was a rare blot on a magnificent one-day record of seven centuries and seven fifties in 36 knocks and the assured number three can bounce back in the second ODI, having scored 62 and 83 in his two innings in New Zealand in January 2016.
