Best accumulator bets for day six

Bets to be placed by midnight Friday

Felix Auger-Aliassime to beat Dan Evans

Andrey Rublev to beat Marin Cilic

Marketa Vondrousova to beat Aryna Sabalenka

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to beat Sorana Cirstea

Canadian ninth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime is starting to go deep in Grand Slams and has the weapons to overcome Dan Evans, who is the last remaning Brit in either Australian Open singles draw, while Russian star Andrey Rublev has won his last five matches against Marin Cilic and is expected to frank that form.

In the women's tournament, world number two Aryna Sabalenka is evidently struggling with her game and looks there for the taking when she faces Marketa Vondrousova. Complete the fourfold with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who has reached the quarter-finals in Melbourne three times and should account for Sorana Cirstea.

Story of day five

While top seed Ashleigh Barty won her third-round clash with Italian Camila Giorgi in straight sets, she will not face Naomi Osaka in the next round as anticipated.

Two-time champion Osaka was knocked out by young American Amanada Anisimova, who prevailed 4-6 6-3 7-6 and also dispatched Belinda Bencic in the previous round.

In the Rod Laver Arena, meanwhile, Barbora Krejcikova won a tight battle with Jelena Ostapenko and unseeded American Madison Keys continued her fine run with victory over Wang Qiang.

In the men's draw, teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz's hopes of a deep Grand Slam run were brought to an end by Wimbledon 2021 runner-up Matteo Berrettini, whilst Rafael Nadal dropped only one set in a win over Karen Khachanov of Russia.

Day six highlights

A repeat of last year's US Open quarter-final sees Daniil Medvedev renew his rivalry with Botic Van De Zandschulp and it should be plain sailing for the Russian, who defeated home favourite Nick Kyrgios in four sets in round two.

Greek fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and Italian world number ten Jannik Sinner are also heavily odds-on to overcome Benoit Paire and Taro Daniel, but there are more competitive betting heats taking place, including a terrific third-round tussle between Evans and Auger-Aliassime.

At the current prices, preference would be for the Canadian. The 21-year-old defeated Alexander Zverev and Roberto Bautista Agut at the ATP Cup, and there is no shame in needing time to overcome Emil Ruusuvuori and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the earlier rounds.

There are also some mouthwatering matches set to take place in the women's draw with Iga Swiatek's showdown with Daria Kasatkina arguably the pick of the bunch.

Best bet
Felix Auger-Aliassime to beat Dan Evans
