ATP Italian Open final: Nadal v Djokovic betting preview, tips, odds & TV
Best bets as the two tennis titans meet in Rome
TV: Amazon Prime, 3pm Sunday
Rafael Nadal will always be known as the king of clay but he has looked more vulnerable on his favourite surface this year and may struggle to justify short prices against Novak Djokovic in the Italian Open final.
The head-to-head in clay court matches strongly favours Nadal, who has won 16 of their 23 battles.
But two of Djokovic's seven victories over the Spaniard have come in Rome finals – winning 6-4 6-4 in 2011 and 4-6 6-3 6-3 in 2014.
Nadal defeated Djokovic 7-6 6-3 in last year's Rome semi-finals before going on to defeat Alexander Zverev in the final. He then lifted a career 11th French Open title just weeks later.
However, he has not looked anywhere near as dominant on clay this year, losing in the semi-finals in Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Madrid.
Djokovic lifted the trophy in Madrid and looks overpriced against Nadal, who he defeated 6-3 6-2 6-3 at this year's Australian Open final.
