The organisers of the World Super 6 in Perth will be delighted that Andrew Johnston will play at Lake Karrinyup this week and he should be able to make Sunday's matchplay knockout stage.
The unusual format has gained a significant seal of approval by attracting the firm crowd favourite and Johnston, one of the most engaging personalities of the European Tour, should revel in the atmosphere.
But the golfer known as Beef has enough ability to make an impression in what is not a particularly strong field.
He is more than just a funny bloke with a beard and he heads to Perth in relatively decent form, having finished ninth at the Abu Dhabi Championship and 27th in the Maybank Championship since the turn of the year.
The winner of the Spanish Open two years ago, he is a regular finisher in the top 40 on the European Tour, which means he should gain a place in the top 24 to reach Sunday's knockout stage, so back him at 6-4 to do so.
Australian amateur Minwoo Lee gets an opportunity to test himself against the professionals and is worth chancing to make a big impression.
He was strongly fancied to do well in the Australian Amateur Championship at the venue before falling in the second round, but big things are expected of the 19-year-old who is strongly motivated to do well in front of his home crowd.
