Ace South Africa pair set to shine at Centurion
Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock can punish India bowlers
Sky Sports Cricket & Main Event, 8am Saturday
Ball dominated bat in the first Test at Newlands, where South Africa bowled out India for 135 in the second innings to win a low-scoring Test by 72 runs.
The Proteas lost Dale Steyn to injury but are rated solid favourites for the second Test at Centurion, where they have won 14 of their 17 Tests since losing to England in the infamous Hansie Cronje match of 2000.
Home skipper Faf du Plessis (62) and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock (43) helped South Africa recover from 12-3 to 286 all out in their first innings of the series and the pair should be backed for more runscoring success.
In the last Test match at Centurion, in August 2016, Du Plessis made an unbeaten 112 in the first innings against a talented New Zealand bowling attack.
De Kock, pressed into service as an opener, scored 82 and 50 in that match, hitting 23 fours and a six over his two innings. In 2016 he scored 129 not out against England at Centurion and he, along with his captain, is worth backing to make at least a half-century.
