Aarhus can have hopes of repeating raid on Horsens
But Aarhus can lift their spirits going into that campaign by winning at Horsens for the second time this season, this time in round four of the Danish Cup.
AGF haven’t had much to cheer over recent weeks though one of the bright spots was a 5-1 hammering of Horsens at the CASA Arena in the Superliga in November.
Former Denmark international and Celtic misfit Morten Rasmussen scored a hat-trick that day and it sparked a terrible run of form for Horsens.
Since that thumping Horsens have played another seven games, winning just one, to ensure that they, like AGF, finish the regular season in the bottom half.
The cup, therefore, becomes important to both clubs and AGF boast the better recent pedigree having reached the final in May when they were pipped by Copenhagen.
Glen Riddersholm’s men go into the tie on a run of four unbeaten on their travels while Horsens boast the worst home defensive record in the league. They are also without defender Frederik Moller, who was concussed during Sunday’s ill-tempered 2-0 home defeat by Brondby.
Only 30 miles separates the sides and it’s clearly a trip Aarhus relish given November’s result, and with Bo Henriksen’s hosts struggling the visitors look to be worth a punt.
