Robbie Wilders' play of the day at Southwell

Hiya Maite
The classiest race on the card at Southwell is the 5f handicap (7.00) and Hiya Maite holds every chance back in a handicap.
Roy Bowring's stable star ran out of puff in the final furlong after attempting to match strides with the rapid Clarendon House in the Listed Hever Sprint Stakes.
He was facing a cluster of rivals who were rated over a stone higher than he was, and he put up his highest Topspeed figure since July there.
Hiya Maite lost his way at the end of 2024, but has been steadily building himself back to form this year and the Hever effort followed two promising runs in defeat behind a pair of bang-in-form sprinters.
The seven-year-old comfortably holds the reopposing Bedford Flyer on the Hever run and it's interesting to see the tongue-tie going back on along with the cheekpieces that appeared to work well when reapplied last time.
Hiya Maite has form figures of 1313202 with that appendage and simply must go close.
