York set to remain dry with going unchanged for day two
Day two of the York Ebor festival is set to take place on ground officially good, good to firm in places with a dry night and morning predicted at the racecourse.
Jockeys reported conditions to be on the fast side of good on the opening afternoon of the four-day fixture, and they are unlikely to change prior to racing finishing on Thursday.
Anthea Leigh, York's racing manager and raceday clerk of the course, said: "We've given the ground as good, good to firm in places for racing on Thursday. It is forecast to be dry tonight and tomorrow during racing with the weather starting off sunny in the morning and clouding over later.
"From the evening, we are forecast showers on and off and could get the same amount of rain as we got before day one, which was around 2mm in total."
