William Hill name expected to remain part of the gambling industry landscape

The William Hill brand will remain part of the UK's gambling sector "for a long time to come", despite the news that the bookmaker's business outside the United States is set to be sold off as part of a takeover by Caesars Entertainment.

That is the view of Gavin Kelleher, an analyst of the gaming sector for Dublin-based stockbroker Goodbody.

Caesars has been clear it has bid for Hills to gain control of the bookmaker's US arm and that it "intends to work with the existing management and employees of William Hill to seek alternative owners for the non-US businesses".
