There are two meetings left standing on Sunday at Newcastle and Thurles. Here are statistics from each track which could help your punting . . .

Newcastle

North Yorkshire trainer Grant Tuer is in fine form, having saddled three winners from eight runners in the last fortnight for a 38 per cent strike-rate.

All three of those victories came from Glorious Angel but others have run respectably, including a 125-1 shot at Southwell on Friday.

Walking On Clouds (3.15) was denied by only a neck when favourite for a race at the same track on Tuesday and should go close in the finale.

Thurles

A cracking card at Thurles will be the highlight for many on Sunday, with several Cheltenham Festival fancies hitting the track.

Predictably, Willie Mullins and Paul Townend are a team to follow and they have fortnightly strike-rates of 41 and 53 per cent respectively. In comparison, Gordon Elliott is operating at just 3.9 per cent having saddled only one winner from his last 39 runners.

The Closutton pair team up three times on the card with Allegorie De Vassy (1.10), Embassy Gardens (3.10) and multiple Grade 1 winner Chacun Pour Soi (1.40), who steps up in trip for the first time in the Grade 2 Horse & Jockey Hotel Chase.

Mullins is also represented by last year's Cheltenham hunter chase winner Billaway (4.10), who will be ridden by his son Patrick.
