Monday

The Grand National field will become a little clearer when confirmations for the £1 million race, along with entries for the weekend fixtures in Britain, are revealed at midday.

There is jumps action in the afternoon at Newcastle and Wincanton, while the Richard Hannon-trained Mr Baloo bids for a hat-trick in just over a fortnight under regular rider Joe Leavy in the 1m1½f handicap (6.30) at Wolverhampton in the evening.

Racing Post+ subscribers can read an interview with Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero, trainers of leading National hope Iroko, at 6pm online or in Tuesday's paper.

Tuesday

Declarations for the opening day of Aintree's Grand National meeting close at 10am, with four Grade 1s on the spin kicking off the seven-race card.

Will acclaimed broadcaster Nick Luck have to stump up a £5,000 hunter chase bonus? We will get the answer on Kempton's jumps card when Captain Tommy bids to complete the second leg of the new initiative (5.05), having scored at Catterick this month.

Fakenham and Limerick stage the other jumps card and there is all-weather action at Lingfield in the afternoon and Wolverhampton in the evening.

Another treat for Racing Post+ subscribers at 6pm is an interview with Bryan Burrough, who dreams of a second Grand National victory with Beauport, 42 years after his first.

Wednesday

Aintree's day two card, including the Melling Chase and Topham, will be confirmed at 10am.

Nigel Twiston-Davies has won two of the last four runnings of the Boyne Cup (3.45) at Ludlow and has three entries including Good Boy Bobby and Undersupervision.

Evolution and Maestro Bernstein have Irish 2,000 Guineas and Irish Derby entries and could make their debuts at Gowran. The other meetings take place on the Flat at Musselburgh, over jumps at Exeter and on the all-weather at Southwell in the evening.

Tom Gibney, trainer of National contender Intense Raffles, features in an interview at 6pm for Racing Post+ subscribers, who can also read Pricewise and Paul Kealy's tips for the opening day at Aintree.

Thursday

Our live blog covering all things Aintree will begin at 9am, and an hour later we will discover who has made the cut for the Grand National when declarations close for Saturday's racing.

The big race on day one at the big meeting is the William Hill Aintree Hurdle (3.30) that could feature Constitution Hill, Lossiemouth and Brighterdaysahead.

Grey Dawning and Spillane's Tower may clash in the Brooklands Golden Miller Chronograph Bowl Chase (2.55), while Triumph second Lulamba will bid to go one better in the Boodles Anniversary 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle (2.20).

Arkle winner Jango Baie could be the star name in the opening EBC Group Manifesto Novices' Chase (1.45) and the first race over the National fences takes place in the Randox Foxhunters' Open Hunters' Chase (4.05).

There are three other jumps fixtures at Naas, Plumpton and Sedgefield and an evening all-weather card at Chelmsford.

Friday

Another four Grade 1s are on offer on day two at Aintree, including the My Pension Expert Melling Chase (3.30) that could feature Jonbon, Gaelic Warrior and Heart Wood, so don't forget to follow our live blog from 8am.

The other top-level contests are for novices, with entries for the Huyton Asphalt Franny Blennerhassett Memorial Mildmay Novices' Chase (1.45), Trustatrader Top Novices' Hurdle (2.55) and Oddschecker Sefton Novices' Hurdle (4.40) featuring the likes of Handstands, Caldwell Potter, Romeo Coolio and Mister Meggit, who has not run since making a successful hurdling debut at the track in November.

Champion jockey elect Sean Bowen is set to ride last year's winner Arizona Cardinal in the Randox Supporting Prostate Cancer UK Topham Handicap Chase (4.05) over the National fences.

Flat meetings at Leicester and Bath take place in the afternoon and there is evening action over jumps at Wexford and on the all-weather at Dundalk and Southwell.

Saturday

The Randox Grand National (4.00) takes centre stage at Aintree with Stumptown, Iroko, Intense Raffles, Hewick and last year's winner I Am Maximus among the contenders towards the head of the market.

Our live blog will cover all the betting news and build-up from 8am and quickfire reaction once the fixture gets under way, with the Aintree undercard featuring three Grade 1s in the Turners Mersey Novices' Hurdle (1.55), Liverpool Hurdle (3.05) and Maghull Novices' Chase (5.00).

The Dubai World Cup card takes place at Meydan, with Rebel's Romance, Audience, Regional, West Acre and Nations Pride among the Brits bidding for Group 1 glory at the fixture. Saudi Cup scorer Forever Young and Ushba Tesoro, who has finished first and second in the last two runnings, are among the star names in the feature event.

Saturday's other meetings take place at Bellewstown, Chepstow, Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Yarmouth.

Sunday

Ireland hosts the pick of the action, with two Grade 2 novice hurdles and a Listed bumper on the card at Fairyhouse and two Listed events on the Flat at Cork.

Southwell stages an all-weather fixture in Britain, with jumps action on offer at Ffos Las and Plumpton.
